Recovering from the box-office frustration of The Cable Guy, Jim Carrey offered his followers the things they desired with this good-natured and often amusing 1997 comedy. In the vehicle tailor-made for his mental and bodily tricks, Carrey plays an attorney whose penchant for prevarication is examined when his child makes a birthday celebration want that his daddy would tell the real truth, the full truth, and nothing but the truth every day and night. Suddenly, Max discovers himself physically unable of telling something that is not true -- which, given the separation and divorce settlement situation he's just been handed, is going to make his following day in court quite interesting certainly. While made to show off a more comfortable and more pleasant side of Jim Carrey's individuality, Liar Liar still revels in the broad physical comedy that made Carrey a star in Ace Ventura, Pet Detective - that is sensible, due to the fact each had been directed by Tom Shadyac. Both Carrey's fans and foes can get a chuckle from Swoosie Kurtz's tongue-in-cheek offend towards the film's star in the blooper reel which runs under the ultimate credits.
