Jim Carrey stars as Carl Allen, a man whose every day life is really going nowhere - the surgical term getting "no" - until finally he signs up for the self-help training course based on one particular covenant: declare yes to everything and anything. As the first chance to say yes presents itself, Carl hesitantly utters the three-letter word, setting the stage a domino effect of good benefits, and providing Carrey a podium to demonstrate off his comic grinds. But as time passes Carl understands that stating yes to all kinds of things indiscriminately can reap final results as complicated and messy as his existence had turn out to be when saying "no" was his tradition. The always-quirky Zooey Deschanel provides her signature elegance as Carl's love interest, Allison. An improbable match at first, the pair really produce excellent chemistry as the tale moves along, the characters playing off each other's various types of humor. Rhys Darby also lights as Carl's loveable however clueless boss, and that 70s shows's Danny Masterson appears as another one of Carl's friends. While Yes Man represents no major departure from Carrey's former perform, the sweet crowd pleaser manages to showcase two sides of its leading man.
